DaqBook/DaqBoard/Daq PC-Card Users Manual
For systems with many modules, stacking units together helps conserve space and assure easy cable runs.
Such stacking is facilitated in 2 ways:
Dual-lock tabs. DBK power cards and DaqBooks are shipped with installation kits that include
Velcro
®
/adhesive tabs that allow modules to be stuck together and easily removed as needed.
A Splice Plate Kit (included with the CDK10 and several DBK modules) provides more rigid
stacking. The kit includes metal plates that screw onto the sides of a module to form a vertical rack of
two or more modules. This method allows the enclosure to size itself as needed rather than wasting
space in a 1-size-fits-all enclosure. In addition, a handle can be attached to the plate for convenience
in portable applications.

T-Cable Guide
&$87,21
Turn off power to the Daq* and externally connected equipment while connecting
cables and setting configuration jumpers and switches or before opening the lid.
Electrical shock or damage to equipment can result even under low-voltage conditions.
T-Cables are available in different lengths and can be used for linking two or more compatible devices
together via the devices 37-pin digital I/O connectors.
The bottom-end of the T-Cable is a dual-connector, consisting of both a female connector, and a 37-pin
(male) connector. As seen in the following illustration, the T-Cables 37-pin (male) connector can be used
for Daisy-Chain applications.
Each T-Cable comes with three sets of screws. These are designated (in the diagram) as: short, medium, and
long. Use the short screws to secure the single, female-end of the cable to the device; and use the medium
length screws to secure a cables dual-end connector. Use the long screws for daisy-chain applications
(when you are connecting one T-Cable to another T-Cable).
Tighten screws snug only; do not over-tighten!
